Farr Law Firm -- Fees for Estate Planning and Asset ProtectionFor our estate planning and elder law services, your initial consultation with Evan Farr is free. You can rest assured you that you will be extremely pleased with our fees and services -- you will not find a better estate planning attorney or a better estate planning value. All of our estate planning and asset protection fees are flat fees (i.e., not based on hourly billing which encourages inefficiency and rewards inexperience), and you won't be charged anything until Evan Farr personally makes his recommendations regarding the appropriate planning level and you agree in writing to our flat fee for the work to be done. If for any reason you do not feel comfortable proceeding after the free initial consultation, you will owe nothing and Mr. Farr will consider it a privilege to have visited with you. Although you will find our fees extremely fair and reasonable, please also note that when comparing legal services, fees don't tell the whole story. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is just as true when doing your estate planning as it with most other purchase decisions you make. An attorney's background, education, and experience are also extremely important, as no two attorneys or law firms are going to provide you with the same quality services or the same expertise or the same documents. Also, at many law firms, you don’t get to meet with the principal attorney, but rather are forced to meet with an inexperienced junior attorney, or associate attorney, or even with a paralegal. At the Farr Law Firm, you will always meet directly with principal attorney Evan Farr for your initial estate planning or asset protection session. Please also note that the fees you pay are a long-term investment -- an investment in your future and your family's future. You may find a few "cut-rate" law firms out there offering ridiculously low prices for their documents, but be aware that what you're going to get from such attorneys is simply documents. The service and expertise you would get from such lawyers would likely be no better than doing your estate planning over the Internet with one of the "do-it-yourself" document preparation outlets, or using a computer program to create your documents. Done properly, Estate Planning is much more than just preparing documents. The Farr Law Firm’s estate planning process involves first establishing a relaxed and trusting relationship between you and Evan Farr. Next, Evan strives to develop an understanding of your unique story – your family situation, your family values, and your specific goals, and Evan also explains to you his story – his background, his legal philosophy, and how he handles estate planning. After this sharing of stories, there is a discussion of whether Evan and the firm can help you achieve your goals and objectives and whether there is a fit between you and our firm. If there is not a fit, Evan will be happy to make a referral to another firm that might be better able to meet your needs. If we both feel there is a fit, we will determine which of our four Planning Levels is right for you, and we will discuss our process under the appropriate Planning Level. Fees will also be explained, discussed, and agreed upon at this time. Once your needs have been determined and the appropriate Planning Level agreed upon, if time permits you and Evan can start designing your personal plan to meet your specific goals and objectives, or the design of your new plan may carry over into a subsequent meeting depending on the Planning Level and time constraints. Either way, Evan will apply his decades of experience to come up with precisely the best plan for you, your family, and your future. A web-based "do-it-yourself" service or computer program simply can't do this for you; nor can attorneys who offer bargain-basement prices to sell you documents. Please also note that Mr. Farr’s education and experience are unparalleled. His Ivy League Undergraduate Degree is from the University of Pennsylvania, ranked 4th among all colleges in the country by U.S. News and World Report in 2006; his Law Degree is from the College of William & Mary, ranked 6th among all public colleges in the country by U.S. News and World Report in 2006. Mr. Farr has been in private practice in Northern Virginia since 1987, and is the only attorney in Virginia who is both a Certified Elder Law Attorney and a Certified Estate Advisor. You may also find it interesting to know that there only approximately a dozen Certified Elder Law Attorneys in the Washington Metro area, and only about 350 in the entire country. Since 2007, Evan Farr has been honored by Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the top attorneys in Virginia. The Super Lawyers designation is bestowed upon the top 5% of lawyers in each state as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. Our intent in sharing this information with you is that you don't compare "apples to oranges" as you are shopping around for the best attorney for your family's needs. The Farr Law Firm is an Estate Planning and Elder Law Firm specializing exclusively in helping families enhance their lives today and secure their futures for tomorrow. Evan Farr excels at guiding you through the often confusing maze of legal decisions to create an appropriate plan that will ensure the well-being of you and your family and the accomplishment of your personal, legal, and financial goals. Evan’s considerable legal expertise includes family protection, asset protection, and long-term-care planning, as well as basic estate planning. In fact, all of our estate plans include these additional elements, something you will not get at all from most other attorneys. Before your free initial consultation, please navigate on my Web site to Forms > Intake Forms. Once on the Intake Forms page, please select and fill out the appropriate Intake Form.
